Mr. Paden
WELCOME!

Hello!!

My name is Nate Paden and I will be teaching 7th grade Reading, Writing, and 8th grade Writing here at Bardstown Middle this school year! My goals for the year go well beyond the academic expectations and will include helping mold the ladies and gentlemen in my classroom to become productive citizens of society once they leave my classroom. I expect nothing but the best from ALL of my students, and as most who know me can tell you, I simply expect those who work with and for me to do NOTHING BUT the best work they are capable of doing.

By way of helping you get to know me, I grew up in Hodgenville, Kentucky (birthplace of Abraham Lincoln). I graduated from LaRue County High School in 2009, and Western Kentucky University in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in Middle Grade (5-9) ELA/Social Studies Education. While attending WKU, I worked for the Kentucky High School Athletic Association as a registered wrestling official for 7 years (4 State Duels/Team State Championships and the 2016 KHSAA State Wrestling Championships) and 4 years as a football official. I also worked for the WKU Athletic Department in the press box for Hilltopper Football and served as WKU Lady Topper Volleyball announcer for 2 years. Upon moving to Tennessee in 2016, I was a TSSAA certified wrestling official with the MTWOA. I presently work with the MKOA Football Association who services the 5th Region, Meade and Breckenridge Counties, and the KWOA Region 2 Wrestling Association which services the 3rd and 5th Regions. As you can probably tell, I am VERY involved in athletics. J My dad was a wrestling coach for 16 years so my siblings and I grew up around sports.

In July of 2015 I met my wife Carolyn in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, while visiting my younger sister for the weekend. We started dating in August and in June 2016 we were married. We presently reside in Big Clifty (Grayson County). Education runs DEEP in both of our families. I am a 4th generation educator as is my wife (she taught 1st grade for 8 years). We love teaching and can’t imagine doing anything else for a career. J On April 19, 2017 we welcomed Jaxson Andrew into our family and LOVE being parents of our little man!

My hobbies include reading, hunting, fishing, golfing, baking/cooking, and spoiling my wife and son. I absolutely LOVE my Penn State Nitany Lion football, wrestling and volleyball teams! I’ve also grown up a HUGE UK Wildcat basketball fan. As you’ll probably be able to tell from some items in my classroom, I am also a BIG “Star Wars” fan. I am also very involved with my church.

Parents, if you have any concerns or questions about your child’s progress or concerns about behavior, please feel free to email me. I usually reply within a few hours unless it is the weekend or after 3:30. Family is very important to me so I reserve the weekend and evenings for them.

May the Force be With You!

Mr. P
