Ms. Sierra Rodamaker

Welcome to preschool!

My name is Sierra Rodamaker (Ms. Sierra) and I am so thrilled to begin my fourth year here at Bardstown Early Childhood Center with all of you.  I’m looking forward to a great 2019/2020 school year, especially spending quality time and fun with your children!

A little about me...I have been an early childhood teacher for nine years; I previously taught in JCPS and at a private preschool in Prospect. I graduated in 2009 from the University of Louisville with my bachelor’s degree; and once again last Spring with my master’s degree. I’m dually certified in both elementary and early childhood education. My Master of Education in Teacher Leadership degree includes a concentration in literacy and reading.

I grew up, and currently reside in Bullitt County.  When I’m not at school, I spend most of my free time with my family and my five-year old son, Paxton, who is my entire world. He starts kindergarten at BPS this year and we both love Bardstown City Schools’ tremendously! Our hobbies together include reading at bedtime, watching Netflix, playing outside, camping at Jellystone, and eating at Chick Fil A.

I am blessed to work in a profession that I truly LOVE and have so much passion for.  Early childhood education is so important and valuable for long term success in school and life.  Teaching through meaningful, interactive play, in our classroom learning environment is the best way for children to become prepared for kindergarten.  I cherish the curiosity, fascination, and exploration the children in my class experience each day; along with their independence that grows so much throughout the school year. Every school day is a new spontaneous adventure, which makes coming to work so much fun for me! I can promise you that your child will be well loved and taken care of every day; as well for a successful, instructional year in preschool!

I value open communication between school and home.  I will keep in constant communication with you concerning your child as well as events in our classroom.  Email, text message, and phone calls are all welcome. I look forward to a wonderful school year!

If you are able, please text (502-432-6649) or e-mail me a recent photo of your child and include their name.  This photo will be used to label their cubby at school. Enjoy the rest of your summer!
