Ms. Sierra Rodamaker

Welcome to preschool!  My name is Sierra Rodamaker (Ms. Sierra) and I am so thrilled to begin my fourth year here with all of you at Bardstown Early Childhood Center.  I have been an early childhood teacher for eight years; I previously taught in JCPS and at a private preschool. I graduated in 2009 from the University of Louisville with my bachelor’s degree; certified in both elementary and early childhood education.  Currently, I’m one class away from finishing my master’s degree in teacher leadership at UofL.

I live in Cox’s Creek with my four year old son, Paxton. My world revolves around my family so I’m sure you will hear lots of stories about them or spot Paxton in the hallways of BECEC! When I’m not at school, I spend most of my free time with my family. Our hobbies include going to the lake, the zoo, swimming in our pool and eating at Chick Fil A.

I am blessed to work in a profession that I truly LOVE and have so much passion for.  Early childhood education is so important and valuable for long term success in school and life.  I cherish the curiosity, fascination, and exploration the children in my class experience and the independence that grows throughout the school year. Each day is a different adventure which makes coming to work so much fun! The love little ones have for school combined with the ability to teach through meaningful, interactive play; makes my job one of the best in the world. Your child will be well loved and taken care of in our classroom!

My assistant teacher is Marissa Lew (Ms. Marissa).  She has worked at Bardstown Early Childhood Center for seven years.  Marissa’s favorite thing about teaching is, “seeing the progress and growth that the children make throughout the school year and the pride it brings to them.”  Marissa has been married for 6 years to her husband Stephen. This summer they welcomed their first baby boy Daniel Joseph, into the world. Marissa stays busy outside of school being a new mom and finishing her bachelors degree in early childhood education.

I value open communication between school and home.  I will keep in constant communication with you concerning your child and events in our classroom.  Email, text message, and phone calls are all welcome. I look forward to a wonderful school year!
