Girls and I
2018-2019 School Year
This will be my 23rd year teaching.  I am as excited entering this year as I was that first year fresh out of UK.  I will be teaching Algebra 1 this year.
A little bit about me:
  •  My husband and I are both teachers.
  • I have three children.  Marcus is a freshman at Morehead State University.  Emily is a freshman at BHS.  Kayleigh is a 7th grader at BMS.
  • My kids are involved in many different activities that I greatly enjoy watching them grow with each new challenge.  This has included cross country, soccer, marching band, bowling, and track.
  • University of Kentucky...BA in Middle School Education (Math and Science Areas of Specialization)
  • Western Kentucky University...MA in Curriculum and Instruction (Mathematics)
  • Campbellsville University...Gifted/Talented Endorsement

My Classes

8 Math Practices
I will be teaching Algebra 1.   Students will be using math notebooks this year as we explore the skills of Algebra 1 and apply these skills in different problem solving situations.  The 8 math practices will be emphasized throughout each of the units as we "do math."  Below are samples of math pages from the interactive math notebook.  We will use these almost daily to record new information, practice, and problem solving.
