BCS Family,

After closely monitoring developments related to COVID-19, Governor Beshear has requested schools close to help prevent the spread of this illness. Bardstown City Schools will implement Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) from March 16 through March 27 (which are the two weeks before Spring Break).  The use of NTI is common in many districts across the state.  BCS is utilizing the NTI option because of this unique situation.  Our school buildings will physically close but instruction will continue for students while they are at home. You can access your child’s instructional materials starting March 17th by visiting http://www.bcsnti.com . Our goal is to resume normal instruction after spring break on April 13.

Bardstown Child Care and BEEP will also be closed from March 16-27.

District administrators will continue to consult with our local and state health departments to evaluate any additional precautions we may need to take as we move toward April.

Your child’s health and well-being is our top priority. The Healthy Kids Clinic located at Bardstown Elementary School will remain open.  If you want to utilize this service please call 502-331-8887. We also know that for many families, school is the only place to get meals for the day and we will continue to fill that need. Starting Tuesday, March 17th our Food Services team will deliver meals at the following locations and times:
  • 11:00 am – 11:40 am: Broadway Street and N. Kennett Street. The BCS Food Service Van will be located in the playground parking lot.
  • 12:00 pm – 12:40 pm: Stumps Trailer Court at Greenfield Avenue and Stumps Court
  • 11:00 am– 11:40 pm: Harding Street and Daffodil Drive  (behind Court House)
  • 12:00 pm – 12:40 pm  McGowan Street and Butler Street  (behind Dairy Queen)

Suspended Activities
Based on recommendations from the Kentucky Department of Health, and in an abundance of caution, all school-sponsored athletic and extracurricular events are also suspended during March 16 through March 27. Over the next several days, we’ll consult with local health agencies to determine if these activities should remain suspended or if they can resume during spring break.
