On Friday, January 11 Bardstown City Schools honored Deputy Brian Voils of the Nelson County Sheriff's Office with the first-ever Top Tiger Award. The award presentation was held on the basketball court in between the Lady Tigers and Tigers double header.
"Deputy Voils has dedicated not only his career but has made it a life mission to make our community safer," said Dr. Ryan Clark, superintendent of Bardstown City Schools. "He has spent countless hours implementing Fast Path, a new labeling system that helps first responders quickly navigate our campus when responding to emergencies."

Additionally, Deputy Voils donated his own time to provide BCS employees with safety training.

The prestigious Bardstown City School Top Tiger Award recognizes individuals or organizations who have provided distinguished leadership and service within the Bardstown City Schools. To receive the award nominees must show an extraordinary dedication or special service to a BCS school of the district and take action at a BCS school or district resulting in significant enrichment of the educational experience of students.
"So many of the extra-value programs we have at Bardstown City Schools are a direct result of the tremendous support we get from community members," said Dr. Clark. "The Top Tiger Award recognizes those incredible volunteers."
