Rory Kiser, Sophia Downs, Will Rapier and Campbell Roby were selected for HOBY Leadership Seminar Four Bardstown High School students have been selected to participate in the Hugh O’Brian Youth (HOBY) State Leadership Seminar. Sophomores Campbell Roby, Sophia Downs, Rory Kiser and Will Rapier were selected due to their academic and leadership achievements.

Since 1958 the HOBY Leadership Seminar allows for students to recognize their leadership talents and apply them to becoming effective and ethical leaders. Participants must be a high school sophomore. During the three day leadership training participants take part in hands-on activities, meet leaders in their state and explore their own personal leadership skills while learning how to lead others and play a positive role in their community.

After each seminar, HOBY alumni are challenged to complete 100 hours of community service within the next year as a way to put their passion and newly built leadership skills into action.

They will be joined by more than 225 students from across the Commonwealth. Kentucky’s 2019 HOBY Leadership Seminar will be held June 6-9, 2019 at Berea College.
