BCS teachers receive Excellence in Teaching Awards from Campbellsville University
Three Bardstown City Schools teachers have been awarded the Campbellsville University Excellence in Teaching Award.

Angel Filiatreau (Bardstown Early Childhood), Eric Hardin ( Bardstown Middle) and Richae Logan (Bardstown High) received their respective awards at a ceremony Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. EST on the campus of Campbellsville University.

The purpose of the Excellence in Teaching Award is to recognize the quality of teaching taking place in school systems throughout Kentucky. The program began in 1987 by Campbellsville University with assistance from Earl Aaron and the Ward, Cundiff and Aaron Memorial fund at the university.
Angel Filiatreau is a preschool teacher at Bardstown Early Childhood Center where she has served since 1990. Filiatreau earned an Early Education degree in K-4 from the University of Louisville and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Louisville. Angel is also a National Board Certified Teacher. 
Eric Hardin is an eighth grade language arts and social studies teacher at Bardstown Middle School where he has served since 2010. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Berea College and a Master of Arts in Education from Spalding University. Prior to joining BMS, he served from 1997-2005 as the principal at St. Catherine School in New Haven, Kentucky. 

Richae Logan is a high school 9-12 special education teacher at Bardstown High School where she has served since 2017. Logan earned a Bachelor of Art degree from University of Kentucky and a Master of Arts degree in Teaching from University of the Cumberlands. Prior to her service at BHS, Logan taught at Wellington Elementary from 2011-14, James T. Alton Middle School from 2014-15 and Nelson County High School from 2015-16.

The ceremony marks the 33rd year the award has been given to teachers around the commonwealth and more than 3,500 teachers have been recognized throughout the years.
