Algebra 2: Google Classroom Code: i4baglm
This course is designed to help students apply the mathematics they learned in the classroom to real world situations, model mathematical situations, communicate mathematically, and use technology appropriately. Lessons that connect various areas of mathematics to algebra, geometry, statistics, and trigonometry will be studied. Students will study real numbers, operations, and patterns as they extend their understanding of algebraic concepts. They will work with matrices, complex numbers, polynomial functions, systems of equations and inequalities, and transformations. During this course, students will also prepare for the math portion of college entrance exams.
PreAP Algebra 2: Google Classroom Code: kmcigs2
This course is a rigorous, fast-moving class that will explore and interpret real-world problems as well as patterns and their representations (expressions, equations, graphs). It will also explain mathematical relationships verbally and symbolically while using technology such as graphing calculators and online software that will help analyze data and recognize patterns more easily. The course will build a mathematical foundation that will make connections among mathematical concepts, across disciplines, and in everyday experiences. The course will help prepare students for future mathematics courses, college, and careers. During this course, students will also prepare for the math portion of college entrance exams.
AP Physics: Google Classroom Code: vsi4d6l
The AP Physics 1 Course has been designed by the College Board as a course equivalent to the algebra-trigonometry based college-level physics course. At the end of the course, students will take the AP Physics 1 Exam, which will test their knowledge of both the concepts taught in the classroom and their application of laboratory experiences. The AP Physics 1 course requires lab work which is integral to the understanding of the concepts in this course. This course makes use of guided inquiry and student-centered learning to promote the growth of critical thinking skills. AP Physics 1 prepares students for further study in science, medicine, and engineering. Students will gain an understanding of fundamental physics principles and then apply them to problem solving and laboratory investigations.
